Josh Andrews is a Vice President on FaegreBD Consulting's energy & environment and insurance & financial services practice teams. Utilizing his experience working in the United States House of Representatives and Senate, Josh advises clients on legislative threats and opportunities on a wide range of issues. He helps prepare and execute comprehensive federal affairs strategies that serve clients' goals in both the legislative and regulatory arenas.
Josh has worked extensively on energy and environmental policy focusing on federal incentives and tax policy, biofuels, energy efficiency and renewable electricity production as well as climate change. A frequent visitor to Capitol Hill, Josh has successfully advocated for expansion of renewable energy incentives to incorporate technological advances being achieved in the private sector. His work in this space enables Josh to advise clients on any number of federal incentives established for energy and fuel production and use as well as the environmental regulations and implications of such practices. In addition to federal advocacy, Josh has worked with the regulatory agencies governing these issues, successfully advocating on behalf of clients before the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Energy.
As a member of the insurance & financial services team, Josh has worked on a wide range of regulatory reform issues facing the industry. He helps keep clients informed with the ongoing debate over regulatory restructuring and helps them design, prepare and execute advocacy campaigns on Capitol Hill that serve their underlying goals.
Prior to joining FaegreBD Consulting, Josh spent three years as a Legislative Assistant in the Office of Rep. Anna Eshoo (CA-14) where he advised the Congresswoman on a broad array of domestic issues, including tax policy, housing, education and banking. In addition to this work, Josh spent three years working for Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) on a wide portfolio of issues, including defense, trade and foreign relations, while helping to staff the member for her work on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Prior to spending six years on Capitol Hill, Josh served as a legislative reporter for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, a volunteer with the Gore 2000 Presidential Campaign and an intern in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
