WASHINGTON, D.C. — Phillip Singerman, Ph.D., Senior Vice President at B&D Consulting and nationally recognized innovator of economic development partnerships, will be a panelist at the Tech Council of Maryland's (TCM's) Clean & Green Tech Conference in Bethesda, Maryland, on October 2.
Singerman will participate in a session on Climate Change Policy and Economic Development Practice. His background includes positions in the public — local, state and federal — and private sectors. He was appointed U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development by President Bill Clinton, where he oversaw the Economic Development Administration’s $400 million annual budget. Singerman has pioneered public investment in technology ventures by leading the Maryland Technology Development Corporation and Ben Franklin Technology Center of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Singerman joined B&D Consulting's public sector group in 2007.
Singerman will give presentations at two major conferences in October — "Strategic Use of Federal Programs to Support Technology-Based Economic Development" at the SSTI's 12th Annual Conference and "Sustainability: On the Cutting Edge — Climate Prosperity Strategies" at the International Economic Development Council's Eighth Annual Meeting.
