Rene Islas, a B&D; Consulting vice president, was named by Governor Mitt Romney to the Romney for President Education Policy Advisory Group, according to the SCHotline Press. The group is tasked with advising Romney on issues pertaining to strengthening America’s education system and ensuring that future generations are prepared to meet new challenges. Islas is a former Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of Education where he managed overall operations, policy development and administration of programs within the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education.
