Singerman Says Greenhouse Gas Legislation on the Way

Phillip Singerman of B&D; Consulting declared the scientific debate "settled" and added that widespread acceptance of climate change science and the political will to address it makes greenhouse gas legislation virtually unavoidable, according to a story in the St. Petersburg Times.

"At the national level, and the Fortune 500 level, and at the international level, the debate is settled," Singerman, U.S. assistant secretary of commerce for economic development under former President Bill Clinton and now senior vice president for B&D; Consulting in Washington D.C., said during a presentation on climate change and economic development to the University Economic Development Association in St. Petersburg on November 10.

"There are people who don't believe in it," Singerman added. "There are climate change deniers. And I'm sure they are well-intentioned people who are skeptics, but there's a very strong majority."
