B&D; Consulting Adds to Economic Development Team
WASHINGTON, D.C. — B&D; Consulting has announced that Nkosi Bradley has joined the firm's economic development practice as Assistant Vice President.
Bradley joins B&D; Consulting after working with the District of Columbia's Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, where he was responsible for managing the transfer of federally encumbered real estate to private developers. Bradley budgeted and managed significant federal Community Development Block Grant funds in support of project site acquisition and management. While working for the D.C. government, he also served as the lead on a planned $260 million catalytic mixed-use town center development, featuring 300,000 square feet of "big box" and in-line retail in one of the District's most economically underserved communities.
"Nkosi's experience in developing federally mandated relocation strategies in public land development adds depth and expertise to our community redevelopment and economic development practice, while also adding to our insider knowledge of the D.C. government and of Capitol Hill," stated Ted Bristol, head of B&D; Consulting's public sector team.
Prior to his work with the District of Columbia, Bradley served as the Director of Housing Development for a community development corporation where he implemented the organization's physical housing development efforts within an economically distressed Southside Chicago neighborhood.
In addition to his ground-level experience in local government and nonprofit community development, Bradley has significant Hill experience as legislative counsel to Congressman Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.). He advised on issues appearing before specific subcommittees to which the Congressman was assigned, namely the House Commerce Subcommittees on Energy and Air Quality, Oversight and Investigations, and Finance and Hazardous Materials.
Bradley joins B&D; Consulting's growing team of seasoned economic development consultants. Through several decades of experience at B&D; Consulting, the team has worked on hundreds of projects across the country in cities, federal agencies and on Capitol Hill. B&D; Consulting's economic development team is led by senior professionals with significant levels of experience at all levels, including neighborhood revitalization, military base re-use, EDA, technology-based and regional economic development initiatives.
Bradley received his B.A. from DePaul University and J.D. from St. John's University School of Law.
