WASHINGTON, D.C. — Alex A. Beehler, a former Acting Deputy Under Secretary in the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), has joined B&D; Consulting as a senior advisor. "We are proud to have Alex join our team," said Andy Ehrlich, who leads B&D; Consulting's energy practice. "Alex brings a unique perspective to the Department of Defense's programs in the areas of energy, sustainability and environment. This expertise, coupled with his vast experience in Washington, D.C. will be of tremendous benefit to our clients seeking to engage the federal agencies on issues pertaining to procurement of green products and services and greenhouse gas mitigation."
Beehler was head of the ESOH Policy Office with direct supervision of 30 personnel and a $125 million budget. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Beehler spent 25 years in private law practice as a corporate regulatory director and served in several other federal government agencies, including 10 years in the U.S. Department of Justice as a senior trial attorney in the Environmental Enforcement Section's Environment and Natural Resources Division. He also is a former executive vice president of a government contracting company specializing in environmental services to the U.S. Army.
