Indonesian Delegation Visits B&D; Consulting
WASHINGTON – On August 20, B&D Consulting hosted an Indonesian delegation as part of a USAID study visit on education policy. The purpose of the visit was to learn best practices in education, with a focus on school improvement and teacher quality. The 14-person delegation included the Deputy Minister for Education, Religion and Civil Service; the Head of Educational Quality Assurance Institution of Central Java; and the Director General of Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel.
Stephanie Hirsh, Executive Director of the National Staff Development Council, and M. René Islas, Vice President at B&D Consulting, facilitated a session on staff development and school improvement.
"It was a great opportunity for us to share our experiences" said Islas. "In addition to giving guidance on their programs, it was a chance to examine our own system through their eyes. It was a great exchange of ideas."
The delegation began their 11-day visit in Boston and concluded in Washington, D.C. on August 22.
