Environment

All companies, local governments and organizations face increasingly complex environmental challenges, whether from environmental impact review, regulatory requirements, enforcement cleanup, water and Clean Air Act quality standards or potential legislation. FaegreBD Consulting's energy and environment team works with clients to prioritize and achieve their federal affairs objectives. We find the public policy intersection for clients to address the challenges posed by current law and future regulation. Our professionals' experience and relationships with Congress, the White House and executive branch help our clients navigate through increasingly complex regulation and enforcement.

FaegreBD Consulting is committed to minimizing our environmental footprint. Our offices in Washington D.C. are located in one of the city's first LEED Gold-certified office buildings, and we are continuously working to address sustainability issues.

Recent examples of our experience include:

  • Developing comprehensive regulatory strategies, including meetings with agency officials, submission of formal correspondence, attracting third-party stakeholder support, activating grassroots networks and identifying Congressional allies.
  • Aiding a client by developing a Congressional strategy including core messages and targets to address objections in the implementation of federal environmental regulation which is based on an international treaty.
  • Analyzing, drafting and submitting public comments for clients that have specific concerns with complex federal environmental regulations.
  • Seeking federal funding for municipal conservation projects on behalf of a client.
  • Aiding clients in their attempt to secure state and federal commitments to support the rehabilitation of a contaminated brownfield site.
  • Addressing cutting-edge legal and regulatory issues relating to the capture and storage of carbon dioxide, which is being considered across the nation.
  • Working with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Academies of Sciences and NASA.
