For three years, FaegreBD Consulting collaborated with leaders across a Heartland university to elevate their Cancer Center's national prestige and reputation. Efforts included strategically positioning the university before federal departments and agencies, working to maximize federal funding opportunities and optimizing external collaborations having a positive effect on the institution's quest for the National Cancer Institution's Cancer Center designation.
Through optimization of external collaboration, FaegreBD Consulting's Erin O'Malley, Debra Lappin and Frank Swain spearheaded an effort bringing together like-minded organizations. The forum created a platform for leaders from industry, academia, venture philanthropy and government, including leadership from Health and Human Services (HHS), the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Focusing on issues of importance to the university, the forum attracted international press coverage and generated a white paper by our leadership team.
FaegreBD Consulting assisted the university in its successful application that secured a Clinical and Transitional Science Award (CTSA) from the NIH.
