The 2016 federal telecommunications agenda will address public policy issues of interest to businesses and consumers alike. The Senate is working on promoting rural broadband, advancing wireless connections, and potentially considering legislation reauthorizing the FCC, broadcaster exclusivity or data breach notification. The FCC is moving forward with the incentive auction, new privacy rules, development of the Alternative Connect America Model and ongoing reforms to the Universal Service Fund program. Senator Klobuchar will discuss the Senate agenda, and Commissioner O’Rielly will address the FCC’s work on these and other emerging consumer issues. There will be significant time to ask our guests of honor questions at this private lunch. 

The discussion will be facilitated by the Honorable Mary Bono of FaegreBD Consulting. As a former senior member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, Mary worked on these issues in her capacity as a legislator and continues to be involved as a leader in these areas.
