With major health insurers such as Aetna and UnitedHealthcare scaling back participation in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance exchanges, the future of these marketplaces has been called into question. In an article for The Hill, FaegreBD Consulting Senior Director Mike Adelberg  discussed the limits of friendly persuasion from federal officials in influencing these important business decisions, while also noting steps being taken by DHHS to make the marketplaces more attractive.  

“At the end of an administration and after almost three years of red ink, a pep talk from a senior federal official might not a convince a CEO to hang in for another year,” Adelberg said.
