As Congress continues debating 21st Century Cures and related medical Innovation legislation in the Senate and the Food and Drug Administration and industry continue to negotiate the next round of prescription drug user fees, a recurrent theme in both forums is that of patient-focused drug development.

FaegreBD Consulting principal Nick Manetto and chair Dave Zook authored a comprehensive Food and Drug Law Institute Policy Forum piece entitled "What Does the Future Hold for Patient-Focused Drug Development?" The piece reviewed the legislative and regulatory past and present of the field and explored where the field may be heading going forward as well as challenges that lie ahead.
