The Department of Energy recently created the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program to assist cities and local governments develop and sustain local energy efficiency and conservation programs.
Under the EECBG Program, cities and counties may receive formula block grants that can be used for such programs. However, those seeking funds need to do more than simply apply for the program. All cities, counties and states must submit a Strategy Plan to the Department of Energy before all the funds will be released.

The applications are due to the Department of Energy by August 10, 2009. You then have 120 days to submit your Strategy Plan. Prior to this webinar, we recommend that you complete the following steps (DOE states it takes up to 10 days to complete the pre-registration prior to submitting your application on August 10).
