FaegreBD Consulting principal and former Congresswoman Mary Bono authored an article for The Hill on the United States’ renewable energy strategy. Bono explained that though people have been able to fill up their gas tank at around $2 per gallon, the prices of crude oil and natural gas will bounce back and should be expected to increase dramatically. Solar, wind, geothermal power and biomass-based diesel should be viewed as reasonable hedges against those inevitable higher prices.
Bono said there's a need for a diversified and bipartisan energy policy that doesn't rely completely and totally on fossil fuels, because markets do change and prices do fluctuate, but encompasses all energy sources the country has to offer.
