Daniel F. Lightfoot

Advisor

With a passion for public service, Daniel Lightfoot is an advisor with the government advocacy and consulting team where he draws upon his experience in both state and federal government to support the work of both the public sector practice and the insurance group.

Before joining FaegreBD Consulting, Daniel was a government affairs assistant with the Minnesota Retailers Association. In the Minnesota Legislature, he tracked legislation, administrative actions and executive orders of interest to retailers and conducted legislative research on policy issues. Daniel also collaborated with association members and their government affairs team to advocate policy initiatives and manage political action committee activities.

While earning an undergraduate degree with distinction in political science and history, Daniel participated in the IES Abroad European Union Program, studying European politics and the German language in Freiburg, Germany. He also served as:

  • Campaign intern with Al Franken for Senate 2014 in Minneapolis
  • Intern in the Office of Management and Administration with the White House in Washington, D.C.
  • Assistant on the advance team with Obama for America in Denver
  • Economic policy intern with the Office of Senator Al Franken (D-MN) in Washington, D.C.

At the University of Minnesota, Daniel completed rigorous course work focusing primarily on federal and state congressional politics, as well as U.S. and European history.
