Nik Schoenherr is a member of the firm’s energy and environment team, which is on the cutting edge of American law and public policy as the energy sector transforms and environmental policy changes.

Before joining FaegreBD Consulting, Nik was a research specialist with the Policy Resolution Group in Washington, D.C. His work included covering a range of energy issues and consumer products by monitoring and analyzing potential legislation.

Nik spent almost four years as a government affairs assistant and then legislative coordinator with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) in Washington, D.C. He developed a strong understanding of the U.S. energy portfolio and practical and political issues surrounding the various production and distribution methods. Nik also represented NEI at meetings, briefings and hearings on Capitol Hill with members of Congress and their staff and at events outside energy policy organizations to advance a pro-nuclear energy agenda, address questions about the industry, and grow industry support among federal affairs professionals.

Nik gained additional government understanding through serving as a legislative intern with U.S. Representatives Cory Gardner (CO-4), Devin Nunes (CA-21) and Charles W. Dent (PA-15).
