Public-Private Partnerships (P3)

Few communities will ever undertake more than a handful of P3 projects; therefore most will have limited experience with these complex transactions. To meet the needs of communities considering P3 projects, FaegreBD Consulting has assembled a team of former local government officials with more than 25 years of P3 project experience assisting communities with the full range of issues surrounding these transactions.

At various times, the team members have led P3 transactions as government officials, advised communities on P3 projects as consultants and led private sector teams with P3 service offerings. This broad base of experience is brought to bear for communities, providing the needed capacity and market knowledge to successfully evaluate and organize P3 transactions.

The FaegreBD Consulting team has a particular focus on operations P3 projects (as contrasted with infrastructure P3 projects). The team members have led or participated in hundreds of P3 projects across the United States. Past P3 projects include: water and waste water utilities, golf course operations, parking and parking meter operations, storm water management, fleet operations and management, document supply chain management, street maintenance, streetlights, and airports, among others.

For its public sector clients, our team:

  • Evaluates and advises on the viability and suitability of a transaction
  • Provides estimates on the potential value of a project
  • Manages and conducts RFI/RFP processes
  • Collaborates with FaegreBD's legal team to conduct RFPs, negotiate final terms and complete transactions
