Washington, D.C. (19-March-2013) - Mary Bono Mack, a former U.S. congresswoman from California's 45th District who held positions on influential committees overseeing core sectors of the U.S. economy, has joined FaegreBD Consulting as a senior vice president in Washington, D.C. She will focus her government advocacy and consulting practice on legislative, regulatory and policy matters related to the entertainment, media and information technology sectors.

Bono Mack's addition to FaegreBD Consulting adds significant capabilities to the firm on technology, media, entertainment and health policy issues. Additionally, her deep understanding of energy policy complements a sophisticated energy practice spanning various U.S. markets including Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Denver. Bono Mack will also use her firsthand media relations experience to advise clients on media and strategic communications matters.

Bono Mack served as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee during her time in the U.S. House, including serving as chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade and as a member of the Energy and Telecommunications subcommittees. In addition, Bono Mack served on the House Judiciary and Armed Services committees.

Her congressional experience and responsibilities also covered issues on intellectual property rights, telecommunications and privacy, including extensive work with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on regulatory issues. In her role with FaegreBD Consulting, Bono Mack will continue her focus on the telecommunications industry by working with clients to develop thoughtful policies that grow the Internet economy and maximize broadband networks throughout the U.S.

Bono Mack served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1998-2013 and is part of a family committed to public service. Her husband, Connie Mack IV, was a U.S. representative from Florida's 14th District from 2005-12. Her father-in-law, Connie Mack III, is a retired U.S. senator, also from Florida.
